If there is Aiah in the P-pop girl group BINI, then there is Aya from the upcoming movie “That Kind of Love”. Well, better take notes because Divine Aucina is the moment!
During the premier night of the much-awaited Barbie Forteza and David Licauco movie, Divine Aucina proved her name on the big screen as she played the role of Aya, the super loyal best friend and secretary to Barbie’s love psychologist character.
The romantic-comedy movie revolves around two imperfect individuals: love coach Milagros “Mila” Maharlika and corporate executive Adam De Dios. Brought together by fate in their search for love, little do they know that love might have already found them.
Spoiler alert! Her character, Aya was the one who facilitated the meeting between David Licauco and Barbie Forteza’s characters, one of her standout lines that brought the house down, “I know a lot of people and people know me.”
Divine is known for her portrayals as a best friend to female leads. She has also worked with many of the finest Kapuso actresses, playing the role of a friend to Eugene Domingo in “Dear Uge,” Heart Evangelista in “My Korean Jagiya,” Maine Mendoza in “My Bebe Love,” Andrea Torres in “Legal Wives,” and Alice Dixson in “First Lady.” Aside from that, she was also part of the movie “Will You Be My Ex” starring Julia Barretto and Diego Loyzaga, where she played the close friend of Julia’s character. And recently, Carla Abellana was included in Divine’s list of on-screen best friends in the teleserye “Stolen Life.”
At the media conference last June 20, 2024, at Plaza Ibarra in Quezon City, Divine shared, “Ako po, mas marami akong eksena kay Barbie.” She may not be the main lead but it looks like she’s set to steal the spotlight anyway.
With her well-performed role in the movie, Divine’s performance received so much praise from critics and audiences on its premiere. She can tackle any role and add her unique flair, making every show she’s in even more captivating.
