Dwta’s Authentic Storytelling Showcases Two Languages in New Single, “Pauwi Na ‘Ko (Dito Ka Na Lang)

With an up beat pop track, she breakthrough going home and infusing her personal flare in the song. “Pauwi Na ‘Ko (Dito Ka Na Lang)” is a heartfelt tribute to dwta’s hometown and her closest confidante. By mixing Filipino and Bicolano languages, she creates a narrative that feels both inclusive and personal.

The track highlights the acclaimed folk-pop artist’s skill in turning sharp-witted, conversational lines into a storytelling that is worthy to tell you, pick up your earphones and listen to dwta’s song—a hallmark of her music. She shares how her fluency in two languages make difference in the approach of song, dwta reflects, “Why not just mix them?…when they hear a Bikol verse, it instantly transports those who don’t understand Bikol into a different world, creating a magical feeling. It’s like letting them experience Bicol through the song.”

“‘Pauwi Na ‘Ko (Dito Ka Na Lang)’ is a song where the lyrics and melody together tell a story,” the young singer-songwriter shares. “It takes you back home or into the embrace of loved ones. The song conveys the longing to return home or have someone special by your side always, capturing the joy of reuniting with loved ones and savoring their home-cooked meals. This feeling inspired her when writing the song.

Describing how she made the it, dwta also explains that her inspiration came from wanting to go back to Bicol to be with family and friends. She picked up her guitar and, within two hours, finished writing the song. The arrangement mixes pop and bossa nova influences.
