Eyes on the Rise: Singer-Songwriter, Rafi, Set to Release Song About Unrequited Love New

Raised in the Philippines, Rafi, a 20-year-old singer-songwriter, aims to express raw authenticity through her music. She is set to release her new single “Unpaid Debt” on June 28.

She started her journey at the age of 5 with musical theater workshops, performing for family gatherings. Over 8 years of participating in many recitals and shows, she then moved into songwriting, crafting soulful compositions that delve into themes like love, self-discovery, and human connection.

Rafi brings a unique sound and heartfelt lyrics to her music, aiming to connect with listeners and make them feel seen and understood. Making and singing meaningful songs is her passion and way of sharing a special gift with others.

In her upcoming song, unrequited love is likened to an “unpaid debt”, hence the title. Here, the debt represents the emotional weight and challenges faced in relationships where the other person refuses to commit. The term “unpaid” suggests that the singer feels unable to move on or resolve the situation, possibly due to their own struggles with self-worth or feelings of inadequacy. It captures a sense of longing and frustration, reflecting the difficulty of letting go when love is not reciprocated.
