When the pandemic hit, we all felt the sting of missing school, friend hangouts, and the usual shenanigans. But then Esnyr showed up, a Dabawenyo TikTok content creator, and through his hilarious skits, he gave us a taste of school life even if we couldn’t be there.
Today, Esnyr John Ranollo is one of the Philippines’ most popular content creators, boasting 8.5 million TikTok followers and 1.65 million YouTube subscribers. But he’s not stopping there—he’s also making strides in the film industry, determined to expand his influence beyond social media.
In 2021, Esnyr John Ranollo turned his knack for being the class clown into internet gold, creating relatable classroom skits that quickly became a hit. With a little nudge from his friends, he went from cracking jokes in the back of the classroom to cracking up millions online.
Esnyr’s videos are a one-man show, with more than five characters all brought to life by him. He’s got the talent to shoot and edit a whole video in just five hours, and it shows—his humor and creativity come through every time, making his content both impressive and entertaining.
Creator-Turned-Actor
Back in 2022, Esynr won two major awards as Creator of the Year and Popular Creator of the Year, honored by TikTok Awards Philippines. Just last year, he was awarded as Most Outstanding Content Creator at the Golden Laurel, The Batangas Province Media Awards 2023.
Esnyr has outgrown his small roles era, now he dominates on the big screen. Currently under Rise Artist Studio, the opportunities given to him showed what he can do best when showing his comedic side. The characters he portrays in his videos are closely similar to the roles he plays in films, that is why he can keep up with the artists who have been in the showbiz industry for a long time.
His first film appearance was in DonBelle’s 2021 movie, “Love is Color Blind,” where his role is Andrei who is a popular character from his school skits. He further expanded his filmography with roles in the series of “He’s into Her”, 2023 films “Shake, Rattle, & Roll,” and “Third World Romance.” And now, he is set to appear in the highly anticipated Cinemalaya film, “Balota ” starring Marian Rivera.
Esnyr’s school skits have now become a YouTube series that has everyone hooked. Every now and then, a new episode drops, spreading quickly online, well, thanks to his humor and the kilig vibes viewers love. The series brings back nostalgic high school moments for Gen Z, with Esnyr, Brent Manalo, and Shan Vesagas forming a trio that fans adore. Despite his growing popularity, Esnyr remains humble and supportive. In a recent TikTok live, he even helped fellow content creator Jenny Chua sell her items after she was banned from TikTok, showing just how down-to-earth he still is.
